John F. Rizzo
President and Chief Operating Officer
John has more than 35 years of experience helping guide some of the world’s most successful technology companies through start-up phases, major product launches, branding and marketing campaigns, rapid growth, acquisitions and IPOs. Before joining Deem, he was Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Customer Officer and General Manager at SolarWinds, an IT software company that grew from $325 million to $505 million in revenues during his tenure. SolarWinds was taken private in a $4.5 billion transaction – over a 75% premium from the time he joined the company. Prior to SolarWinds John was Chief Marketing Officer at Jive Software, where he helped grow the business from $75 million to $150 million in revenues in 24 months and completed a successful $1.75 billion IPO. John has served as CEO at several early-stage startups with successful exits and early in his career held senior leadership roles at Oracle, Apple and Intel. He also sits on the board of Untangle and Filld, and is a board advisor to the Stanford StartX accelerator, Prevedere and Motiva, as well as a being an instructor at Stanford University Continuing Education.
Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
Tony is a 35-year travel industry veteran and an accomplished executive with deep expertise in travel and technology and a passion for moving the industry forward. Prior to joining Deem, he was Managing Director of Phocuswright, a premier research and consulting business to the travel industry. Prior to joining Phocuswright, he served as Chief Sales Officer for tech-enabled ground transportation company GroundLink. Previously, he fueled substantial growth as Senior Vice President of Travel Services at Deem/Rearden Commerce, where he assembled and led a team that built a distribution network of over 50 travel management companies and added 7,000 customers. His record of success in the corporate travel technology space began at B2B e-commerce leader GetThere, where he led the pre-IPO startup as Vice President of Sales during an explosive growth period that saw a tenfold increase in revenues and expansion of the customer base from five to over 2,200. Prior to GetThere, he spent more than 19 years in leadership roles at United Airlines, including his last assignment as National Sales Manager for the U.K. and Ireland. Tony is a frequent speaker at travel industry conferences around the world and is also an author of the popular travel industry blog IN: business travel.
Vice President, Travel & Car Service
Mike has 25+ years of experience in sales and business development with firms like Xerox, United Airlines, Sabre, and the New York Mets Baseball Club. He is responsible for driving revenue via the Travel and Car Service channels, and has been working with travel management companies, suppliers, and sar service operators for 12+ years at Deem. Prior, Mike was the Founder and CEO of an online travel-consulting firm, TravelTaxi.com, was the Director of Sales at GetThere, and part of the founding team of Travelocity Business. While he was in college in San Diego, he made extra money singing the national anthem at cock fights in Tijuana.
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Tom has 35-plus years of experience in the IT industry and has been recently advising many small and start-up companies on IT-related issues including architecture, infrastructure management, cloud computing and Internet security. He was a former Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of @Road, which was acquired by Trimble Navigation Ltd. in 2007. Prior to @Road, Tom served as Vice President of Network Engineering at Visa International, where he led the voice and data network engineering and operations functions. In that capacity, he played a key role in the rollout of Visa’s e-Commerce initiatives, enabling Visa to launch several internet-based services, including SET (Secure Electronic Transaction) and Bankruptcy/Fraud Risk Prediction Services, at huge scale with high reliability.
Vice President & Group Leader, Car Service
Gadi is an experienced entrepreneur with an exceptional track record of starting and growing companies for the past 15+ years. He founded OLSET in 2012 and managed it until Deem acquired the company in late 2016. Prior to OLSET, he led new initiatives, acquisitions and global expansion at Merced, resulting in its acquisition. Gadi holds an MBA with distinction from the NYU Stern School of Business. In 2015 he was voted as one of the top 25 most influential executives in travel by Business Travel News.
Vice President, Group Leader Travel & Expense
Todd is an e-commerce veteran and entrepreneur who has served as a product management, marketing and technology leader to many premier global consumer brands. He has successfully delivered highly scalable and innovative products across the consumer, SMB and Enterprise market segments. Todd joined Deem from ONEtechnology, a firm that has created a platform for developing progressive web applications without writing code. His previous travel industry experience includes GetThere, Orbitz, TRX/Concur and LesConcierges.
Vice President of Operations & IT
Bret career spans 20+ in IT, operations and engineering. He brings a proven record of successfully managing IT and network operations in small and medium size companies. His expertise is in design, implementation and maintenance of large complex multi-vendor heterogeneous environments and Data Centers. Prior to Deem, Bret was the Director of Network Operations at NexTag and Yahoo.
Vice President of Marketing
Tahnee leads the marketing team for Deem’s innovative business travel products. Tahnee is responsible for driving strategy and implementation for Deem’s branding, marketing, and sales enablement. Prior to Deem, Tahnee held positions with Northstar Travel Group, the travel industry’s leading information and marketing solutions provider and Phocuswright, the travel industry research authority. Prior to that, she held marketing, technology and sales roles with the Aspen/Snowmass ski resort. Tahnee graduated from the University of Canberra in Australia and moved to the United States in 2002. She’s a recent transplant from Brooklyn, New York.
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Dave is a senior software finance and operations executive with a demonstrated ability to execute against a focused strategy and transform organizations into industry leaders. He has a unique background spanning venture-backed private companies, large public companies and a multi-national accounting and consulting firm. He has deep hands-on experience with SaaS B2B and online B2C e-commerce business models. Prior to Deem, Dave was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at VerticalResponse (a Deluxe Company) and a General Manager at Deluxe after VerticalResponse’s acquisition by Deluxe. Dave was also CFO at Informative, Inc. and Corporate Controller at Travelocity. He has also held financial management positions at SGI and Arthur Andersen.
Senior Vice President of Software
Chethan is a veteran technology leader and a technologist with a deep background in travel and expense technologies and was involved early on in the creation of the travel technology business. He also has a wide range of experience building complex enterprise software for ecommerce and SaaS applications. In his most recent role he was Vice President of Software Development at Coupa, where he was responsible for supplier solutions, expense, mobile and analytics products. Prior to Coupa, he spent seven years at Deem as Global Vice President of Engineering, building the platform and leading various application teams. Prior to Coupa and Deem, he served in development and management roles at Merced Systems (acquired by Nice), OuterBay Technologies (acquired by HP) and WebVan.
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Peg is a seasoned HR executive who has worked in Silicon Valley for the last 30 years, from rapid growth start ups to Fortune 500 companies. She specializes in partnering with business leaders and their teams in building organizational cultures that drive business goals. Peg began her career at Intel, consulted for IBM during their unprecedented transformation from hardware company to software company, and led the HR team at Xilinx, where the company placed in the Top 15 for five consecutive years in Fortune’s Great Place to Work listing. She was Vice President of HR at Adobe and QUALCOMM/Atheros and led both teams through the integration of major acquisitions. Peg was awarded the 2002 HR Leader of the Year Award, the YWCA TWIN award and a Beta Gamma Sigma award from Santa Clara University.
